Terms of Service

Last updated: Draft

These Terms of Service govern your use of Statutory Demand Online and the preparation and service of a statutory demand through the Website. They form a binding agreement between you and Statutory Demand Online.

Draft scaffold — the sections below set out the structure a lawyer must complete. Bracketed text marks content pending legal drafting.

1. The service

[Pending legal drafting: describe the $999 fixed-fee statutory demand preparation and service, exactly what is delivered, and the expected turnaround.]

2. Not legal advice, and when a solicitor–client relationship arises

[Pending legal drafting: reconcile the "lawyer-reviewed" nature of the service with the position that this is document preparation and service, and state if and when a solicitor–client relationship is formed.]

3. Eligibility and your responsibilities

[Pending legal drafting: the debt must be due and payable and not genuinely disputed; the statutory minimum (confirm the current prescribed amount); the accuracy of information you provide; and appropriate use.]

4. Fees, payment and GST

[Pending legal drafting: $999 inc. GST, what it covers, when it is payable, and accepted payment methods.]

5. Cancellation and refunds

[Pending legal drafting: cancellation rights and the refund policy, including once preparation or service of the demand has commenced.]

6. Service of the demand and excluded work

[Pending legal drafting: how the demand is served and applicable timeframes, and the work that is excluded (for example, responding to disputes, court applications, or winding-up proceedings).]

7. Third-party processing

[Pending legal drafting: information submitted through the form is processed by Syntaq and other service providers — cross-reference the Privacy Policy.]

8. Limitation of liability

[Pending legal drafting: limitations and exclusions of liability to the extent permitted by law — cross-reference the Legal Disclaimer.]

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

[Pending legal drafting: the governing law and jurisdiction (confirm the relevant Australian state or territory).]

10. Complaints

[Pending legal drafting: how to raise a complaint and the practice's complaints-handling process.]

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time by posting a new version on the Website, effective from the date it is posted.
